Concrete Toboggan Race

2011 CIRCA Award:

University of Calgary wins again!

GNCTR is a 37-year tradition, offering aspiring engineers across Canada hands-on experience in the design and demonstration of a toboggan with a concrete running surface.

CIRCA’s “Award for the Most Effective Use of Fly Ash in Concrete” has been attracting GNCTR Competitors' interest since 2003.

University and College teams compete on the basis of 5 concrete performance criteria for a $2,000 purse and the honour of bringing home the CIRCA Award trophy.

CIRCA Members team up with other Industry Representatives to judge CIRCA Award entries at the annual GNCTR “Technical Exhibition".

GNCTR 2011 was hosted by University of Alberta, January 26-30, in Edmonton, AB.
